Annual Essential Safety Measures Report

The Law states that the person responsible for each premise is required to carry out a 'Fire Risk Assessment' each year and take steps to reduce or remove the risks. A 'Fire Risk Assessment' or an Annual Essential Safety Measures Report (AESMR) evaluates your premises in terms of fire safety hazards.

A qualified Fire Compliance & Safety assessor will visit your premises, make a detailed physical inspection and provide you with a comprehensive report. This report will include a prioritised action plan on how to minimise the risk of fire to your business.

A representative of the chief fire office or a member of local council is entitled to request to visit the premise at any time and request an Annual Essential Safety Measures Report. This is a Fire Risk Assessment of your premise. If you are unfortunate enough to have a fire and your AESMR has been deemed not suitable or sufficient, the loss adjusters can use that fact to withhold or downgrade any insurance payments.
